Rosenthal Winders & Applicators

What is a Winder?

An Introduction to Winding

Industrial winder or rewinder machines transfer master rolls of material onto smaller rolls and wind loose sheets of material into rolls of any length. If needed, materials can be wound onto cores. Some winders are manual, while others are automatic; both can be suitable solutions depending on the workload size and material being wound.

There are three distinct types of industrial winding machines:

  1. Winders for rewinding a web process, such as an extruder, laminating, or calendering line
  2. Winders for converting large master rolls into smaller yardage rolls
  3. Winders for managing trim scrap from a slitting process

Rosenthal Manufacturing builds all three types of winder machines, which can be combined with our Sheeter and Slitter products as add-on options.
